Publishers are sending request for book reviews, writers are proposing series of articles, people want to get involved. We are new but certainly are heading into the right direction. The upcoming months should include some interesting series of articles, better editing, nice graphical stuff and as usual, recent topics to be covered. We always take suggestions. If you wish to write for the Universal Thread Magazine, just send me an email.
This issue includes the start of two series of articles. The first one is a series of articles on the Visual FoxPro grid. As many of you know, the grid control of Visual FoxPro offer a lot of flexibility and this series will cover some materials in regards to its use. Our second series of articles relates to the use of SQL Server T-SQL from a Visual FoxPro perspective. More and more developers are using SQL Server for their backend and this series of articles should be interesting.
This month's issue was overloaded. We had to cut on several articles. Some articles have been delayed to the next month. The next month issue should cover a review of Expert One-on-One Oracle by Tom Kyte. The book is useful for Oracle Programmers, Developers, DBA's and anyone else who needs to know how to get things done in the database. We should also have an interesting case study on a project which was involving Visual FoxPro for the front end application, Internet Information Server, Visual FoxPro for the middle tier on COM+, XML, SQL Server 7.0 and a 400 million record database. Among several interesting issues, the article will discuss topics related to the obstacles faced and solutions implemented. We will also have a review on Essential SourceSafe by Ted Roche. Essential SourceSafe is the training aid and reference manual for casual users, software developers and SourceSafe administrators in installing, configuring and maintaining SourceSafe in a variety of development environments. Our series of articles on Visual FoxPro grids and T-SQL for Visual FoxPro developers should continue. We also received a request to include an article on Visual FoxPro for Arabic applications.
The upcoming issues will also include topics on Web Services, VB.Net, Active Server Pages and other high end technologies covered by the Universal Thread. Make sure to stay in touch with the magazine and don't hesitate to get involved.

Premier Universal Thread Membership
The Universal Thread will add more benefits to its Premier Universal Thread Membership in the upcoming months. Interesting stuff such as free subscription to magazine and new added features should continue to make your presence on the Universal Thread a pleasant one.
Visual FoxPro HTML tool
Fournier Transformation announces the release one of its HTML tools within the next weeks. This is a set of functions for a specific issue when developing Web applications that you will be able to benefit of. We have a few fine tunings to do in the functions before going into the testing phase. We should then be able to release it after. After having done several Web projects with it, we thought it could be nice to release it for whoever needs it. We cannot tell you more at this time. Stay in touch for some announcements in regards to that within the next few weeks.
