I am running VFP 8 and 9 on a PC running XP. The person who owned this computer before me apparently liked to edit and or code in other languages and left some strange settings.

The main problem I am having is that in both versions of VFP on this machine I have a strange edit cursor (it looks like it has a little flag at the tip). When editing code or in the command window, the editing often does not line up with where the cursor appears to be and this makes editing troublesome. I have tried removing and re-installing VFP 8 and 9 and have updated to the latest service packs and still this cursor will not go away.

Also, this edit cursor only appears in VFP. My cursor for Word, Excel and every other application is completely normal.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this thing?
