>I saw that story on cnn.com and my heart went out to the victims. Normal looking young women, the type you might see on the train or at the grocery store. I doubt they wanted anything different from what the rest of us want, which is a comfortable existence. I won't go all bleeding heart wondering what led them to their sudden encounters with death, but it's sad. They were somebody's daughters. Their lives were ahead of them.

There's often an attitude towards murdered prostitutes, as if they were some form of sub-species, not worth the effort to investigate, because they "got themselves into the sex and drugs predicament", as if a young girl, when asked what she wants to be when she grows up, answers, "Ooh, I'd like to be a crack-addict whore". Many of the Brit papers have the odd by-line to this effect. It sickens me.
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
