>I got this from http://cattle-today.com/
>"....The world cattle population is estimated to be about 1.3 billion head, with about 30 percent in Asia, 20 percent in South America, 15 percent in Africa, 14 percent in North and Central America, and 10 percent in Europe. The 10 states in the US with the largest cattle populations are Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana, Kansas, Iowa, Kentucky, and Florida...."

>How about fixing the pooo problem? What we need to do is accelerate the breeding of what's called the 'dung bettle' - a wonder little animal, that - well..errr... it eats poooo! So I figure if we have more cattle then we need more dung bettles - thus elimating that contribution to global warming and ME still eating steak! whoohoo!

Not so fast. If the problem is pooh, and you have enough dung beetles to consume the cow pooh, wouldn't all those bettles then double the problem with all the pooh-pooh they create?
