Thanks everyone,
I've opted to go with the mysql approach. I actually have the book
"MySQL Client-Server Applications with Visual Foxpro" published by Hentzenwerke.
From what I can tell this seems like a simple approach. I will use a connection string and then figure out how to send an update to the table.
