Dragan,

I believe the point of the discussion was that guns make your life much more safer, and the article William posted clearly shows it.

"For a major capital, London has a low murder rate. Police say there were 159 homicides from April 2007 to the same month this year, about a third the number of New York, which is similar in size."

Oh... Wait a second... I am confused now, sorry, what was I saying?

While trying to find how does London compare to NY in terms of gun ownership (did not find), I found this study: http://content.nejm.org/cgi/content/abstract/329/15/1084

"Conclusions: The use of illicit drugs and a history of physical fights in the home are important risk factors for homicide in the home. Rather than confer protection, guns kept in the home are associated with an increase in the risk of homicide by a family member or intimate acquaintance." Shocking, who would've thought that?
