I don't remember all of them. I confess that I was suffering a bit from information overload. One was that the functions may be referenced from SQL Server commands while procedures may not. That one definitely makes sense to me. I can ask him to give me some more detail, if you like. He is someone whose opinion I respect quite a bit, which is why I wanted to raise the issue.
