Usually, all of the companies that have a Point of Sale System, use an Star DP8340 Printer here, Typically you'll use the Generic/Text Only driver for this type of printer, but there are a few limitations by using this driver (The "WIDE BOLD" characters).
The printers manual explains how you can send a command to the printer to start printing this way.

Has anyone ever done or used something like this?

I feel kind of lazy about this, it´s not big deal, but if there is somebody willing to give me this routine I'll apprecciatte it!.

In the other hand I know that there are a few limitations by sending characters directly to the printers Port like not being able to print using a Network printer, but I don´t care, for that I´ll use the Generic, text only driver that the OS provides.
