Actually I suspect the value may be a little more than 2c. ;-) I've spent a few 2c myself over the years analyzing different ways of achieving a certain heavy processing goal. SP for transactions but off-server hammering still wins out every time. Of course it is true that you can keep buying bigger and better servers, but in the real world that translates to customers having to invest potentially millions of $$$ because the developer insists it's the "better" way to go.
