Fair enough.

The relevance of HRC and the court case was that HRC was initially plugging a campaign theme about supporting and believing anyone who claimed to be sexually assaulted. Her campaign pulled some of that language very shortly after more specifics came out about the court case (and about her husband's past behavior and any tactic support she gave it). In this case HRC was promoting a position that she subsequently changed when it became rather obvious that she herself had not upheld that original position.

In this case, it wasn't just any "mistake" 40 years ago, it was her changing a rather important element of her campaign messaging on her website.
