Hi Hank,
As you correctly noted, this module will be used for spare parts inventory control. The tablet (Surface Pro 2) will be in the stock room and every time a part is taken out, the part number (on the label) will be scanned (it has barcode), quantity, person, cost center, etc. will be entered.
I do not plan to use .NET for this app; VFP should be able to handle it fine.
I will certainly look into what you suggest, WorthData Tricoder.
