You want to be able to see all of the items, don't you (not grayed out like they are when disabled with '\')? You can set the combo value back to the original value in Valid() or LostFocus() when not in editing mode. Alternatively, you can set the ControlSource to no value if not editing. Either way the combo won't update the table.
