Palm IIIe doesn't wake up on alarm

In the last 2 weeks my PalmIIIe has stopped waking up when there is an alarm. If it is on, the alarm sounds. If it is off then the alarm sounds next time I turn it on. Any ideas on how to make it wake up? It is totally useless if it do this.
