You don't need to use a DBC if you use a CA. With a CA, the data is fully encapsulated. If you use OLEDB to access SQL Server (consumes fewer resources, faster and easier to configure than ODBC), the CA will do the ADO to cursor conversion for you.

You may want to look at Andy Kramek's data classes at www.tightlinecomputers.com. His classes don't use CAs.
