We've run into an odd problem when trying to bind to Word events on specific Dell machines with Word 2003 pre-installed. We get an "Type Library word.application not found" error when trying to create a WordEventHandler object defined as
DEFINE CLASS WordEventHandler as BizObj
IMPLEMENTS ApplicationEvents2 IN "Word.Application"
This is only happening on Dell Optiplex GX280 small form factor & New Latitude 505 Notebook computers with word 2003 pre installed.

Has anyone else run into this?

We find that if we replace "Word.Application" with the full path to the TypeLibrary file (MSWORD.OLB in Word 2003) it works fine. The problem with this solution is that it would need to be hard-coded somehow since we can't use variables in the class definition line.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

TIA,
