If you go through an externalized interface like this your options get much wider. I personally like Authorize.NET which uses a very simple HTTP based interface where you simply post form variables.

IMHO, Authorize.NET with an account through MerchantPlus has been the best merchant experience that I've had with the 10 or so providers I've worked with over the years. Cheap fast, and the guys at MerchantPlus have been excellent for customer service which is unheard of in the merchant business <g>...
