As a .Net newbie I am probably getting my project/solution terms mixed.

In the solutions explorer (right side on IDE in my case) I have the "solution", below that is my project and within that is "references" and "service references".

In the sample solution provided I can right click on "references" and I have an option "add web reference". In my project I don't have that option, I only have "add reference" and "add service reference". I am guessing I have something set wrong in either my project or solution, but I don't know what.
