I won't even go that far. Life in prison is no picnic. (As Jeffrey Dahmer found out in fairly short order). It's barbaric. Here is a list of the nations that allow capital punishment. Look at the Death Penalty Permitted section. Is that a list we want to be on?

Re: your list, this is an old and tired (and flawed argument). In many of those countries, people are put to death for crimes other than first-degree murder.

I have concerns about the death penalty when there is any question as to guilt - but where there is ZERO question as to guilt on first-degree murder, such a monster has no claim to his/her life.
