And I'm not above it, either. I did all kinds of scut work from age 12 (paper route) until embarking on a "real" career as a software developer. I worked at a grocery store stocking shelves and bagging groceries, at a Wendy's cooking burgers and swinging a mop, lots of other low end jobs. The high point was working as a cook at a reasonably classy Italian restaurant in Madison, one of only two non-Sicilians in the kitchen. I'm not one of those effete snobs who won't get his hands dirty.
