Well one thing to examine is who benefits if it stays illegal. Lawyers will obviously. And seeing how the prisons are becoming privately owned I'd say the owners of those sure want it to remain illegal...(and incidentally I think that's something we should all worry about too - privately run jails...??). Lets see who else - well the cops sure don't want to see it become legal - might cost a few of them their jobs. Any company that makes booze sure wont want to see it legalized - might cost them money too. Oh and all the politicians and lobbyists that deal with law enforcement or the booze industry cause might hurt them too. So basically these few greedy ones want to screw everyone else. Doesn't matter that we toss away billions every year and the heck with those 40,000 murder victims in Mexico.
