I didn't have this problem with anything else that I log into either - so I dunno it seems to me like something happened on the backend.

Well, it is probably not the case, but in similar situation it was in regards to the password which became sensitive 18 months ago. When the cookie was reseted, people who always typed the password in uppercase thought there was something wrong with their password. A password reset resolved the issue in those cases.

As for the potential issue you are wondering about, if you can send me an email, I will reply to you with the list of IP of all the logins on your account for the last month. You will be able to verify those IP and see if those locations were in fact all related to you.
