There are annual Hemingway imitation contests. If you left enough of a footprint that there is an imitation contest, with entrants, you made your mark. Personally he was not my favorite, although I certainly respect him.

There is also a Bad Austen contest for those who like literary spoofs with less testosterone. (Way less).
