Just had to try the idea which arose during the last chat session on the UT. It's crazy, and it still works. Try this:

Open Data Whatever
create sql view "dbcbased" as select * from whatever.dbc
use dbcbased

You get your .dbc open as a view :). Didn't try to make it updatable, though.... it'd be too much for one evening.
