Take a look at the Wang/Kodak image controls that ship with Win 95/98. You can also download them free from Kodak's website at: Imaging for Windows. Documentation and other useful information can also be found on their site: Imaging for Windows Developers Information

I haven't used the scanning features in my applications (yet), but I know it does have a scan control.
