No, we are not using TCP/IP. I have tried and I get an error. I think SQL Server has to be setup on the server to handle TCP/IP and I don't have that control.

The stange thing is that a laptop can run real fast connecting to SQL Server and my desktop works slow. If I put the laptop on the wire it is still slow. There must be some network connection on my desktop that is off.

Help!!
