I suppose it could be other than an object hanging in there that is causing a memory leak.
For instance, there was a bug (fixed by SP3) that caused a slowdown when repeated SQL Selects were run. It is numbered Q191172.
Another that I left out yesterday was Q216587: Previewing Report Writer causes memory leak. There is also Q221669: Return of COM Server Objref Causes Server to not Release. And also Q221679: Servers do not Release if Init Returns .F.
Finally, I suppose that you could be doing something in your app which is steadily consuming memory. I've been caught on 'generating' array names that I never went back to clean out. I'm sure that there are several ways that this (steadily consuming memory) could happen.
