Actually, there are 3 CDs in the MSDN distribution; there are two CDs in the Visual Studio CD set. You can confirm this by looking in the box from the last MSDN distribution; the approximate size of the extracted files after compressions is a bit over 1.3GB, slightly more than would fit on two CDs. And, yes, that means that there is material in the latest MSDN distribution that was not a part of the VS documentation set; the full MSDN distribution has been at 3 CDs for quite some time now.
