Accessing a 'sister' form
Hi All,
It feels like the following should be possible...
On a straightforward Customer Service Rep. entry/edit form there was a button to open a standard "notes" type MEMO field for review and/or additional entry.
Since this often requires a change of Page to access the page with the button for this I thought that it would be much more useful to have a separate form for this operation. That way the operator could
1) Always have latest notes available without extra action/interruption;
2) Add a note at any time under similar circumstances.
So I made a form with NO upper-right control boxes at all (want to 'control' it from the (older) sister), a 'always on top' like it's sister, a default datasession so it uses sister's data.
Revised (controlling) sister to Do Form... in it's Init and to enable/disable (baby) sister's two entry fields as needed.
My expectation was that, when I started the older sister form the baby sister should show up too. It does.
Then I expected that clicking the older's "New" button would enable the baby's entry fields, and it does.
BUT. . . I simply cannot get into the baby form to enter anything. It's D-E-D dead!
Is it possible to do this? Seems like it should be, but I admit to going down more than one garden path before.
Any advice appreciated,
JimN
