Try:

1) backup the FPT files!
2) create a new file structure with the same memo fields
3) append from old file (just a few records to see if it reads the memo data)

>I have been having a problem with a particular file. I have ran recover on it and sdt's update utiltity. Now I can get into the file however my memo's are all empty(I'm doing this by browsing the table, and the word memo is in lowercase for every memo field). This file has approx 100,000 records with 2 memo fields each of which had data in them. The size of the fpt file is still over 30 meg, and I pulled it up in an editor and can see the text.
