You don't want to use mySQL. It is no where near the sophistication and power of PostgreSQL...
Did you check out the Zeos driver for PostgreSQL, MySQL and Interbase that I gave you? I was able to connect to my PostgreSQL tables via Kylix using it. http://www.marms.com/zeos/eng/zeos_zdo_main.html Use zeosdbo-5.0.7-beta.zip
Another way is setting up an ODBC connection with DNS, as I mentioned earlier.
