>I am fortunate in that where I work, I can use the best tool for the job. I have overcome some anti-MS bias as well because I demonstrated what I could do with VFP and MS Word in automating the creation of very complex documents. My team leader was pulling his hair out because he was having to edit every document that another group was producing for deployment to our internet site. I stepped in with the VFP/Word app, and, while his eyes popped out after seeing what I did to simplify his job, his hair has now completely grown back.

Has he offered to return the favour for you (hair-wise)???

>>Those "IDIOTS" you referred to are the “decision makers of corporations and companies around the world. They typically do not have a technical background and have time for only one statement: “Show me the bottom line”! They rely upon comments and editorials to determine “reality” and have not taken the time to explore options that exist. This is something that is not easily changed and I have been exposed to this reality all of my working career.

>>If you ran a business and had need of a critical application would you use the best tool for the job or what Microsoft told you to use? Having shown management what VFP can do to create a web form in one hour (it is 100% reliable) I have to use Visual Interdev 6.0, which takes an average of 40 hours to get the same degree of functionality but with an unacceptable degree of reliability.

>>Yes, the “IDIOTS” are running the “corporation” (do not worry I know the original quote). But they reply, “We have always done it this way”!
