7 times!!!!

Is there something about you that seems to encourage the thieves ? (a serious question).

Are you going for the Guiness record < s >?

As to this guy, I think you are right. Police, and so the media, always play up 'heroic' acts and then end with the warning that "of course this was a stupid thing to do and no one should do so again. Conditions were just lucky this time".
This guy has a cell phone and kept 911 informed of where they were headed. Sure, they could have gotten in an accident, but if we all lived by the fact that we can get in an accident any time, any where, we would all stay in the house. It was a fair assumption that the thief wanted to live and probably wanted the truck, so he wouldn't be 'looking' for an accident.

Maybe he deserves a rebate from his insurance company for SAVING a stolen vehicle claim and compensation from the truck company and the cell phone company for all the exposure they got. That's what capitalism is all about, isn't it?

cheers

>Foolish? It sure seem like it when you look at it like that. But what would you do in an event like this, when you need to make your decision in a fraction of a second? I've been robbed 7 times so far in my life and I don't know what I could do if I had a chance of catching a thief, so I can relate to this guy. He surely have an insurance, but his premium will have surelly gone up if his truck was stollen. So he would loose anyway.

>In a sense, he is a hero. How many more victims this guy would have made if he wasn't catch?

>If his decision was purely driven by his truck, then I agree that his decision was foolish.

>>This guy risked his life for his truck. Hasn't he heard of insurance? This is foolish. The theives could have killed him, the truck could have been in an accident.
