Hi All,

We are struggling with "custom" (non 8.5 x 11 inch) tractor feed forms on dot
matrix printers under diverse OS's.

For example. We need to print a 3-part form which has 3 copies per 11
inches. Under 98 we were able to set the detail band to the width necessary
run a few tests, tweak positioning and everything was fine. Another client
upgrades to ME (why? - not my call ;-). The printing now creeps all over
the place and doesn't seem to respect the spacing on the detail band. We
eventually went in and created a custom form under the windows printer
driver and modified the report form so it thought the whole page was 3 2/3
inches. Worked Fine. Yet more clients upgrade to XP (a better choice) but
now we have huge problems. Set up the same custom form under the windows
print driver for XP with the same report form and it is waaayyyy off. Not
only that, it now seems to be printer model specific (okidata seeming to be
the worst). We are having to customize the report form for every
combination of OS and printer model we run across!

Then we have the winner of all battles - clients with a mixed OS environment
and we are basically having to tell them to choose which OS they will be
printing their forms from.

We do routinely clean the Tag and Tag2 fields. We make the *.fr? read only.

Any suggestions?

Rick
