>My point is simply that a couple of years ago MS did have a good showing of sessions on VFP and nobody showed up for them, because the VFP developers psent their pennies on DevCon.

If I'm not mistaken, VFP's DevCon is co-sponsored with Advisor Publications and Microsoft. Likewise, Advisor has a DevCon for VBA/Office/Visual Basic that is co-sponsored by MS. Also, there is VBITS which is Fawcette Technical Pubs and MS.

As long as VFP is hidden in it's own world, it will never be seen as an alternative to other Visual Studio developers. Just what will people think when they are all at TechEd and they hear that Visual Foxpro, one of the 'cornerstones' of Visual Studio and yet there are no presentations of how to use it with all of the other technologies.

Don't get me wrong, I think VFP is a great product. However, I'm not going to sit idly by hoping that MS does their part to bolster the product. I do all I can to champion Fox where I work, but when the folks that are making the decisions question Microsoft's loyalty to the product, I don't have a leg to stand on.
