That error is an OLE error and indicates that somethig is worng with the way the OLE server for teh bmp is registered on the machine. I prefer to keep my mbp's in memo fields and copy them out to disk when I need to edit or display them. I find general fields are too limiting in tha things I can do with them. With OLE automation I can COPY MEMO ... TO My.BMP and then launch any application I want to edit the BMP.
