DataTools is a powerful tool for managing data using special tables called DataDictionaries. It allows creating, manipulating and checking your data. It can create DataDictionary table from existing data and use this dictionary for checking and manipulating your databases and tables. DataTools works with FoxPro Tables (free tables (dbf) and databases (dbc)) and SQL Server/MSDE databases. We would like to invite all FoxPro community to test it and send us suggestions and recommendations for its improvement. We would like to ask for a help to translate its labels and help in French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, etc.

Description
We use most of the presented in the tools functionalities in our update/install and administration modules. After a question on UT we decided to add them in one tool. I hope that it will be useful for FoxPro community, especially for colleagues who work with MSDE. There are three main aspects of Data Tools using: 1. Create Metadata (DataDictionary) from existing data, gathering information for all tables (structures; indexes; triggers; constraints), views and stored procedures 2. Create data (database or free tables) using existing Metadata 3. Manipulating existing data using gathered Metadata information (check and modify current status of data tables and database objects based on Metadata information): - The program can perform full or separate check on any group of data objects (tables, view, store procedure) - create missing table or delete excessive one - modify table structure (based on the Metadata or directly - using the tools - any changes made in this way will affect the Metadata information too) - create, modify and delete indexes (commit re-index operation) - create, modify and delete triggers - create, modify and delete constraints - create, modify and delete views - create, modify and delete stored procedures DataTools provides some additional tools: - allows you to execute any FoxPro command - ability to change database properties and settings, perform operation and create database backups and restore databases DataTools 1.0b is created as a multilanguage application (all caption of labels, wait windows and messages are put in DBF and depend on chosen language they load in the beginning of application) if you press button “abc” you will come in translation form where you can chose translation languages From: English To: ........ Help is done in CHM format and we can provide it also in RTF file for translation purposes.

I'm in database business from 10 years. We develop database applications mainly with Visual FoxPro 7.0 - front-end and SQL Server 2000 back-end applications. We are experienced in FoxPro 2.2, 2.5, 2.6 for DOS, FPW2.6, VFP3.0, 5.0, 6.0,7.0. We are well familiar not only with FoxPro, but with all products in Visual Studio 6.0 and VS.Net. We could convert every old FP or Clipper application to VFP7.0. Now we work on XML classes which will let us to use the VFP apps in WWW with SQL Server2000
