avfp3 will have a vfp 9 compiled version out of the box, but, you can always recompile the included source to work with any version
I use an Installshield setup for server installs.
An AVFP server is started automatically with the first request(even if no one is signed on!) while AFP,WWC, and Foxweb all have multiple servers running in the background and typically have to be started manually. To have them run when no one is logged on requires the further step of running them as a service with tools like srvany...
