This project uses javascript. Wordpad is the promary editor. I recently noticed that when a ".JS" (javascript) file is right clicked in explorer, the "Windows Script Host" is offered as an "Open With" option.

I slected the "host script" to open a JS file. A "compilation" error came up and a line and position of an error was reported. I made the changes no errors!

Can windows script host be used to debug syntax errors in JS files? What happens after the file is opened? Is the JS file really being compiled?

Thanks
