For now, and on the occasion of their 1st. aniversary, GMail is gradually incrementing the storage space from 1 GB, to 2 GB.

For those who don't use GMail yet:
  • Other features of GMail include a potent search engine, and the ability to access your e-mail both through POP3 and Web site.
  • Registration is only available through an invitation, but it is not hard to get one.

    ===========

    It should be noted that after GMail announced its 1 GB storage for free - which seemed like an enormous amount, 1 year ago (500 times the storage offered by HotMail, for instance) - several other e-mail providers followed suit, for example:

    Yahoo! incremented its storage space from 6 MB to 250 MB. More recently, they announced 1 GB for the near future.

    Hotmail announced plans to increment the storage space from 2 MB to 250 MB. (For now, this is a promise only; many users are still waiting.)

    GMX (from Germany) incremented their space from 10 MB to 20 MB; and then soon to 1 GB.

    So, whether you actually use a GMail yourself, or not, it is very likely that you are already benefitting from their storage offerings - unless you happen to have large amounts of stock shares from one of the competitors, who now have to follow suit <g>.
    Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
