I have spent the last few days trying to get a web service running. I'm using a DLL in VFP8 which has been published as a web service. I've used the following link for instructions:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dv_foxhelp/html/fowlkwalkthroughcreatingwebserviceswithvisualfoxpro.asp
I've set up a virtual directory on the IIS running on my Windows 2000 PC. I've published the DLL using Task Pane in VFP8. I've created an EXE to insantiate the DLL and call one of its methods.
When I run this all on my PC it works fine, but when I run the EXE from a client PC to instantiate the DLL which sits on my PC (the server), the object cannot be instantiated.
I wonder if it could be some sort of issue with IIS or the network. I can browse to the WDSL file, sitting on my PC, from the client PC.
Any help would be appreciated!
