Hi Christof and Claudio,
My customer experiences this with behavior with both an old NT server and a newer Windows 2000 server.
I can duplicate this behavior on a standalone workstation with external USB drives.
Everything works fine as long as the drive letter is C:. As soon as anyone chooses a different drive letter from a getfile, putfile, getdir dialog, the system crashes as soon as the OK button is clicked. I have verified this by placing debugging code immediately following calls to these dialogs. In these cases, my debugging code never gets called.
Note: My application works fine if these dialogs are used to select files or paths on my C: drive.
Note: My application works fine if the user manually enters a path with a non C: drive letter using a FPW textbox. In other words, FPW can successfully reference non C: drive letters and access files on these drives.
So, my conclusion is that the drive picker of the getfile, putfile, and getdir dialogs is the source of the problem.
I've searched these forums and Tek-tips and googled variations on this topic with no success.
Any more ideas?
Malcolm
