I'm sorry to say this but this is one of those places where the VFP implementation is extremely bad. It knows full well what file it can't open... but does it tell you that in the error message? No, it doesn't.

and with file interpendencies it can be a real problem trying to find the erroring file.

Try creating a new project from scratch, add only the main and do a build. There is a "chance" that the last file in the PJX is the error causing file or it's the last good file. If it's the last good file you can try adding files in one by one from your old project until the build fails.
