Calvin,
>Do you think this problem is fixed in 9.0?
In 9 they've made some changes that should help. The DEBUG OUTPUT window now shows information about the project build as it goes along. I've not had to track down an error like this in 9 yet so I can't say if it really is fixed or not.
>In any case, I did SOMETHING to make this particular problem go away but it got replaced by one that is equally frustrating. When I compile now it stops and says that there are build errors on the app. When I look in the error log it shows many many errors on 1 screen file. Things like "Top = 90 not in procedure". If I remove the screen from the project and comment out the call line for the screen then the exe will compile. However, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the screen file, at least as far as I can find. I've looked at the code and I looked at it in the class browser. I have made changes in it and recompiled- no joy. I restored that screen from a backup ( that compiled previously ) and still no joy.
It sounds like your SCX/SCT is a tad corrupt, or are you trying to use the output of the class browser as the code for the project?
Make sure you have a good back up and try a
COMPILE FORM TheProblemChildForm from the command window and see if any errors occur. If they don't try building the project.
