>I need to encrypt a text file before I send it to Client. They provided me with .asc file. Can I use Crypt.vcx to do that? They used some PGP software earlier to do the same. If I use Crypt.vcx and use the Key, the one they provided to me as .asc file, will it affect them in any way...say the way they need to Decrypt the file.

Take a look at this:

I know there are some PGP activex's controls that you can get, but as I recall most of them were pretty expensive.
At one time I downloaded their commandline version (which is a dos version), and simply had my VFP application create a .bat file to run it...
