Hi, the following code is from one of our programs(VFP5) which simply opens the Word 97 document on a Win95 system:

WAIT "Please wait for Word to load" WINDOW AT 20,30 NOWAIT NOCLEAR
oWord=createobject("Word.Basic")
oWord.ChDir(cWORDPATH)
oWord.FileNewDefault
oWord.AppMaximize
oWord.AppShow
WAIT CLEAR
ntemp=MESSAGEBOX("Make sure Word has been unloaded")
