I agree, and this has been one of VFP's strongest points for years!

Well, I guess you have heard it before, but what is really sorely needed in VFP is an update of the UI controls to allow for more modern UIs. For example:
- A native treeview would be wonderful. The activeX version can be used, sure, but it is a hassle, and does not always play well with refreshes etc.
- The grid control could use quite a lot of improvements as well: Make it hierarchical (sort of like a combination of a treeview and a grid - I'm sure you know what I mean). Furthermore, it would be great if the grid could use other data sources than a cursor (or if the listbox could offer more of the same functionality as the grid)
- A container should be scrollable, and ideally, have the ability to use its own data session
