Setup wizards for VFP 3.0 and VFP 5.0 before service pack 1 have a problem with the long names. If we install application from Windows95 client on Novell server we are asked initially to run setup /f since the target doesn't support long names. After running with this key we receive immediately Setup Error 997.
Is there any way to use setup executables from VFP 5.0a ( where it was fixed ) for installation VFP 3.0 application in this particular case. To use straight-forwardly setup wizard from 5.0a having 3.0 application directory as a source results in inappropriate run-time
environment. Possibly manual hacking of setup.inf will help but it is not a very nice approach.
