Good post!

Funny about GM... I sold most my shares early this year and was holding some until this morning. Started moving more and more of my money into Asian and European funds.

Then find out this very morning that GM has pulled advertising from LA Times over a negative article about their failure to come out with more fuel efficent products. Curious how less advertising will help GM at this point!

So I dumped the last of my shares this morning and called investor relations to let them know that some Americans don't appreciate companies that try to influence reporters to 'write nice' or face finanical payback.

I think the house of cards is starting to look very shakey and your assessment seems spot on.

>More of a "reality" scenario than a nightmare. Most US comapnies are only reporting profits that resulted from tax give-aways.

>GM's debt is 300 Billion bucks - the market cap on their stock is only 17 Billion. GM lost money last year. GM's portfolio is mostly loans now.

>And now - and this is weird - the US is requiring a passport from Canadian Citizens that cross the border. Vigilantes in Arizona are walking the Mexican border with Guns. And FLorida just passed a law that allows people to shoot someone if they don't like their facial expression.

>Takes notes - some really weird stuff is going on here!

>>Nightmare scenario:

>>ALL the jobs are outsourced to developing countries, employment reaches 100% there, workers in the West, like the article says, take more and more pay cuts, until pay is equivalent to what the, now, affluent eastern workers USED TO earn (they've been getting pay rises as affluence rises), the now developed countries, having more work than they can cope with, start outsourcing to the West.

>>>Interesting story about outsourcing. A Morgan Stanely representative says he can see no reason ... "why we would ever hire a New York Programmer again."
