Sorry, but personally, I believe that attitudes such as expressed by Russell cause far, far, far more damage to Foxpro's reputation than anything else.

For example, I go to this site for help with my Java studies:

If you go to "The Big Moose Saloon" you can see all the various forums they have available. Note that a very popular forum is the OO, Patterns, UML... forum.

I just don't see any high level discussions take place on the UT anymore. They did occur occassionally in the past. But the people who are necessary for those discussions to take place don't frequent the UT anymore.

I believe that comments such as Russell's are meant to stiffle discussion rather then enhance it.

There are very few job postings for IT these days that are for a single task or skill. Typically a ad will ask for at least 4 to 5 skills. I welcome any postings here that alert me to a chance to enhance my skill set.
