All,

I know my previous seminar post caused concern among some members, but I thought it best to get this announcement posted now that there's an open discussion on the UT.

EPS Software and Oak Leaf Enterprises, announce another two-day VFP Conversion seminar at DevTeach 2005 on June 17, 18. This event is just two days before the popular DevTeach 2005 conference (www.devteach.com).

This seminar provides important information on converting FoxPro and Visual FoxPro applications to .NET. If you would like to convert a Fox project (or part of it) to .NET, this seminar provides critical information on what it takes to do this. Topics covered in this seminar include:

  • C# and VB .NET Primer – This session teaches the basics of both C# and VB .NET and can help you choose the right .NET language for your development team

  • Object-Orientation in .NET – This session compares object-orientation in .NET to VFP and shows how to leverage what you already know about OOP in Visual FoxPro

  • Data Access in .NET – Data access is extremely important to VFP developers and this session compares data access in VFP to ADO.NET

  • Creating Windows Forms Applications in .NET – This session demonstrates the basics of creating Windows Forms applications in .NET

  • Creating Web Forms applications in .NET – This session demonstrates the basics of creating Web Forms applications in .NET

  • Best Practices for Porting Fox applications to .NET – This session provides in-the-trenches best practices for converting your VFP applications to .NET

  • .NET / FoxPro Interop – This session shows how you can leverage your existing VFP code in .NET

This seminar is taught by Kevin McNeish, author of the book .NET for Visual FoxPro Developers, President and Chief Software Architect of of Oak Leaf Enterprises, and a Microsoft .NET/C# MVP.

The cost of the seminar is only $399 for both days and includes breaks and lunch. However, if you are a premier member of the Universal thread the cost is only $349--just enter UTPREMIER as the promo code when you register on line.

For more information or to register, go to http://www.vfpconversion.com or call EPS Software at (832) 717-4445.
